The applehoni™ story began when the Local Economies Project and the Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley joined with the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley to develop new funding for food banks and other nonprofits that feed families, children, seniors, the disabled and other people in need. New York State’s Hudson Valley is similar to other areas of the US in that more than one in 10 people receive federal SNAP benefits, and many more simply do not have adequate access to food.
The team created applehoni™ as a tasty vegan honey alternative with a sustainable “triple bottom line” business model – farmers sell their apples, food banks gain a new source of long-term funding, and hungry people receive more of the food they need. You can feel great about buying applehoni™ knowing that 100% of profits are donated back to regional food banks.
Giving never tasted so good!
